Antycip upgraded the air traffic control (ATC) training simulators for Skyguide, the organisation responsible for air safety in Swiss and adjoining airspaces.
The project involved modernising, over a period of years, the three tower simulators, to improve their performance in training situations, through greater resolution, colour depiction, brightness and improving the physical environment of the training towers.
Skyguide’s tower simulators provides training for over 600 control tower operators annually, which supports Skyguide’s responsibility for over 3,000 flights per day through its airspace. The simulators image generators, through the visualisation system, provide views of national and international airports, exactly as they would be viewed from their respective air traffic control towers, for training exercises with scenarios that can be adapted by the instructor.
The latest project involved the installation of sixteen projectors, combined into a single 360˚ full HD simulation with a 10m diameter.
